life doesn't pause for your business

i'm not going to lie, this friday the 13th and mercury retrograde have kicked my ass.
that night my dad ended up in the icu, and on top of the fear and exhaustion, the entire software system for the hospital went down. they were doing everything old school, paper orders for scans, doctors waiting hours for results. it was a nightmare, but thank goodness he's stable now. this whole experience has given me a lot to think about. on good days it can be challenging enough having to be the one responsible for maintaining the discipline, motivation, and vision to make things happen. so on a bad day, it all becomes exponentially harder. you could be in the middle of a huge product launch or signing a dream client, full of momentum and excitement, then suddenly life happens. a parent falling ill, a relationship ending, unexpectedly needing to move, whatever it looks like for you. the world doesn't pause just because chaos unravels, we're still expected to show up. there's no one to hand things off to and there is no infinite paid leave to fall back on. this is why having a community and somewhere to land during the highs and the lows, is so important. the muses realm was created with the understanding that we aren't meant to build our business alone and structure to hold you during every season of life is what makes a workflow sustainable. so on that note, i look forward to seeing you in the next container. xx ~ with tlc | tay founder of the muses realm |
